Prescott Vision 2050 Revisited

Join us for the August 24, 2017 meeting of the Prescott Good Governance Committee as we welcome speaker Bill Arnold who will re-acquaint us with the Prescott 2050 Visioning process. Over the last 25 years Prescott citizens have frequently engaged in visioning and planning processes to define and move toward a desired future for our community. Dr. Arnold, a former Communications Professor at Arizona State University, was tapped by then Mayor Jack Wilson to chair the Prescott 2050 Visioning process. Several hundred Prescott Citizens joined the effort and volunteered their time to study key challenges in the community in order to make recommendations on how to move Prescott Forward through the year 2050. The process also included a major community survey (1600 responses received), an open house session attended by 300 residents as well as several community presentations by state and national visionaries who addressed critical issues facing the State (and region) in the years to come.

The recommendations of the final Prescott Vision 2050 were included in Prescott We Want, a report compiled by Prescott Good Governance which reflects a collective sense of who we are and what we want to be as a community. Revisiting Prescott 2050 Vision will assist in engaging newly arrived Prescott residents and build further support for the action steps which move us forward to the Prescott We Want. We invite you to join us in civil discourse leading to civic action.

Darcy Renfro, Director of The Arizona We Want Institute, shares about The Prescott We Want on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
